Yet eating only organic requires time and money: Pesticide-free items can be difficult to find and can cost as much as 40 percent more than conventional products. Nearly 70 percent of all wheat-flour samples are contaminated with pesticides, so try to buy organic bread from small specialty producers who now sell to supermarkets. If your pasta, cereal, or crackers are made primarily from wheat flour, look for organic products from brands like Kashi, Back to Nature, and Eden.
