Area 51, Nevada
It took 8 years and a FOIA request, but the CIA finally acknowledged that this top secret research, development and testing facility up Highway 375 (AKA the Extraterrestrial Highway) actually exists. Little A'Le'Inn in Rachel, the only open-to-the-public establishment nearby, has been hosting curious earthlings and spilling the beans for 26 years.
The Sightings: Little A'Le'Inn owner Pat Travis, who like everyone else, is refused admission to the Air Force Installation and can't prove that the remains of crashed UFO spacecraft are stored at Area 51 or that scientists are reverse engineering the aliens' advanced technology, can tell you this: There's nothing but snow dusted mountains, natural springs, petroglyphs, mountain lions, and wild mustangs between her and Vegas. Sonic booms are regular occurrences, and when she and her deceased husband first bought the place, she claims a light shot six feet through the front door.
Nearest Military Base: 10 miles to the back gate.
