Gulf Breeze, Florida
This affluent suburb of Pensacola has a nickname for the resident red orb that often shows up at Shoreline Park: Bubba.
The Sightings: According to developer Edward Walters, the sightings began on November 11, 1987. He saw a craft with a glowing ring hovering just above the road and had the wherewithal to grab his Polaroid and start snapping. For three weeks, these crafts — reported by as many as 200 people — made headlines around the world.
NASA's Robert Nathan called Walters' photos inconclusive. Still, you can't miss the UFO-shaped fiberglass house in Pensacola — which has survived at least two hurricanes, sports a u-shaped kitchen, a curved 23-foot couch, central fireplace that doubles as a grill, and a "launching pad."
Nearest Military Base: Naval Air Station Pensacola, 6.4 miles away.
