Jamis Renegade Exploit
Last year, Jamis released the carbon Renegade Elite, a versatile bike designed for on- and off-road adventures and developed with feedback from Jamis pro road and cyclocross racer Tyler Wren. Now Jamis adds a new, more affordable version of Wren's dream machine, the Renegade Exploit, built with Reynolds 631 steel. The advantage of steel is its smooth-rolling strength, which makes it ideal for dirt-road miles by mellowing out rocks and gravel bumps. To keep the bike's overall weight reasonable, the Renegade Exploit includes a carbon fork.
The solid Shimano 105 parts group handles shifting, while TRP cable-actuated disc brakes provide great stopping power without boosting the cost. The Renegade Exploit comes with Clément tires, but the wheels are tubeless-ready. Frame eyelets make the Renegade Exploit rack and pannier ready.
