The LG 55-inch EM9600 TV might be thinner than a pencil and lighter than two gallons of milk, but the set's pinch-me picture is what puts it in a class of its own. It's the first large consumer model to use OLED technology, which produces true blacks, has a virtually infinite contrast ratio, and sucks up far less power than current models. This is the most significant jump in TV tech since sets went flat. [Price TBD; lg.com]
