Tour Prize Purse: The 2014 winner received $1,100 and bragging rights as the King of Cornhole
Championship: American Cornhole Organization (ACO) World Singles Championship of Cornhole, July 2015. Location: TBD
Rules: A tailgater's game, where competitors aim sandbags at a hole in the opposing team's board until they score 21 points.
Odds: After competing in regional rounds and the majors, competitors earn points to qualify for the chance to win it all in the World Singles game. There's some money, but it's really about the glory of being dubbed "King of the Cornhole" in the final tournament. "The ACO is on the cusp of putting cornhole on television, bringing in major sponsors, and recognizing hundreds of thousands of players competing across the globe," wrote Frank Geers, president of the American Cornhole Organization. "What makes cornhole so amazing is that anyone can play. To think that the average Joe drinking a beer and grilling burgers in their backyard can go out and compete to become the best cornhole player in the world — the King of Cornhole is pitchin' awesome."
