Fish Tag, New York City
Fish Tag, located on Manhattan’s Upper West Side has a focus on seafood and wine. But, as with many a restaurant associated with chef Michael Psilakis, there’s also a focus on rich, savory flavors. For the dessert course, the emphasis is on unlikely combinations of ingredients, creating food that stands out in its own right and is of a piece with what came before it.
Recommended dessert: Spiced Pear Tart. Topped with olive oil, ice cream, and tastes of almond and caramel, this serves as a convergence of seemingly disparate flavors.
