Distance: 65.6 miles
According to Strava, this is one of the best rides in the country. After taking a look for ourselves, we get why. For starters, with the exception of the smooth paved road, there is no indication anyone else might be around. It's often just you and the ponderosa pines, blue spruce trees, fiery red canyon, and creeks rushing below. After refilling water bottles and grabbing something sweet at the Button Rock Bakery in Lyon, you'll climb up 5,575 feet into the Rocky Mountains and what feels like a landscape created just for cyclists. On the way back to the Full Cycle shop, the fast, winding descents will make you forget all about those earlier moments, when you danced out of the saddle, thighs burning, in one of the wildest places on earth to ride.
