Tart, low-alcohol German wheat beers like the Berlinner weisse and gose have seen a craft resurgence in the last two years, but Poland's equivalent, the grodziskie, is still under the radar of too many beer lovers. The style is set apart by the use of smoked malts, which creates an interesting, highly quaffable light beer that's in no way a "light beer." While grodziskies are still hard to find, Germany's Professor Fritz Briem (an actual brewing PhD in Germany) label has re-created the style for distribution across the U.S.
