It's the single greatest creation in American sports: 68 college basketball teams duking it out across the country to determine a National Champion. From face-painting freshmen to the guy in the office who makes pool picks based on team colors, everyone gets involved in March Madness. But not everyone wants to pore over a season worth of game footage to figure out what games and which players are worth watching. A little catch up may be in order.
With so many schools, sorting through the potential stars can be tough. There are the NBA Lottery guys the draftniks will be watching, the college heroes looking to move their programs forward, and all those hard working guards. It's a lot to figure out. That's why we put together the definitive list of must-see talent.
Jordan Bachynski, Arizona State
Some guys alter games by putting the ball in the basket, other guys do so by keeping it out. Enter Bachynski, a 24-year old, 7'2" center from Calgary who leads the NCAA with 4.2 blocks a game. That's 8.4 potential points never seeing the light of day. In arguably ASU's best stretch of the season - three straight wins over Oregon, Oregon State, and Arizona, Bachynski blocked an insane 24 shots. Swattage like that could be enough to propel the Sun Devils to an upset or two.
