Frequency: Monthly (formerly weekly)
Hosts: John Oliver and Andy Zaltzman
If you like HBO's Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and wish this show had been on the air years back when that thing happened that one time, you're in luck. There are about 300 episodes available of Oliver and co-host Andy Zaltzman's "audio newspaper for a visual world" that take an equal parts honest and absurd look at the news of the world. Their love of British Royals, confusion over the American political season, and hate of FIFA are staples among a long list of targets that the two satire and skewer on a, sadly, now monthly basis. Much like Oliver's show, it's the best way to stay informed and entertained without having to slog through opinion news and whatever the hell CNN is doing.
Best Episode: The Charlie Hebdo attacks in January led to a particularly excellent, if jarring, edition of The Bugle, and the day Oliver coined the term "fuckeulogy" when talking about the death of Osama Bin Laden (May 7, 2011) was uniquely brilliant.
