Speculoos Cookie Butter
Founded in 1973, Brooklyn-based Steve's is considered a pioneer in the small-batch and local-based ice cream revolution of the past few decades. Steve's is also part of the popularization of ice cream "mix-ins," as many of their current flavors can still attest to. Instead of defaulting to cookies and cream, however, Steve's spotlights combinations such as Coconut Key Lime, which has key lime pie filling and graham cracker pieces swirled into coconut key lime ice cream. Our favorite from Steve's is their Dairy-Free Speculoos Cookie Butter Ice Cream, which is made from organic coconut cream, but the richness of the Speculoos gingerbread flavoring leaves basically no trace of coconut taste. As with Speculoos butter, you'll find yourself eating Speculoos ice cream out of the container as well.
