The advantages of spring skiing often outweigh the disadvantage of damp corduroy. The arrival of the sun means you can ski in your shirtsleeves and the arrival of festival season means you can ski in your shirtsleeves to a slopeside party. If the winter is about getting radical, spring is about having a good time in ski towns full of lift operators looking to let off some steam. Here's where you should head this season if you want a great last run.
Lake Louise, Alberta
Spring comes a little later north of the border. This year, Lake Louise Ski Resort in Banff closes for the season in early May. Closing weekend is always a big party and Monster Energy is sponsoring the annual Ruckus in the Rockies, a series of on-piste parties at the Kokanee Cabin with live music, costume contests, and games as well as a Saturday night blowout in the famous Lodge at Ten Peaks. Two hundred and forty bucks gets you a room at the Great Divide Lodge, two passes to the Ruckus in the Rockies party on Saturday night, and two adult lift tickets. Head to the top of the mountain, where powder holds out against the warmth.
