Closing weekend in Telluride is something to behold, especially if you like the color pink. From April 4 through 6 the KOTO Pink Flamingo Street Dance floods the slopes and town with pink boa clad and flamingo waving partiers in various stages of intoxication, along with people wearing anything pink, and other costumes of all shapes and sizes. Free live music around the mountain and in town keeps the party going until Sunday, when the Gorrono Ranch pond-skim and costume contest closes it down. If pink isn't your color, check out the Mountain Town Getdown the weekend before (March 28 through 30) for three days of free live music and bikini slalom. The snow will be a bit damp, but it's still a great mountain.
