Copper Country Trail
Where It Goes: Copper Country is the Upper Michigan peninsula's portion of US Highway 41, which runs from Marinette, Wisconsin, to Menominee, Michigan.
Length: 47 miles
Driving Time: 1+ hour
Where to Stop: Explore the coast of Lake Superior, where waterfall sites and hiking trails abound, but remember to keep in mind the byway's namesake. Thousands of miners rushed to the Keweenaw Peninsula in the mid-1800s; visitors can head over 2,000 feet down into the depths of Quincy Mine.
