Where to Stop: Surrounded by the snowcapped Sierras, Lake Tahoe is the highest lake in the United States, and colored a brilliant blue, thanks to its clear water. You can do everything from mountain biking to disc golf. Spend a day swimming at Sand Harbor, then take a relaxing drive along the banks.
