It's not easy to find a grower's champagne – one made by the same estate that owns the vineyards – for under $40, explains Railsback. "[Pierre Moncuit Champagne Blanc de Blancs NV] is a value champagne that not many people know about," he says. "It drinks like a 50- to 60-dollar bottle." The wine hails from the Côte des Blancs, and Nicole Moncuit, who has directed the house since 1977, has been making it for years. "It's on the elegant side, and very lean and high toned."
