There's nothing finer than a cold beer on a hot summer day. And though we'll be putting our imperial stouts and barleywine in the cellar until cooler weather, there's no reason to dumb down your brew selections in the heat. Brewer: Full Sail Brewing
Style: American Lager
Full Sail Brewing Company was founded in 1987, and while it might not have the brewing history of a Yuengling, it does have a Pre-Prohibition-style lager that looks and tastes the part. Full Sail's Session Lager is sold in stubby 11-ounce bottles with bright red labels. The golden colored lager begs to be belted down in great gulps, and it has a clean, cracker-like flavor that was lost in most of the bigger breweries that actually survived prohibition. Session Lager also contains just 130 calories, which means that a long session at the bar doesn't have to be followed by quite so long a session at the gym to work it off.
