As the snow melts (finally!), our thoughts turn to heading into the great outdoors – and all the great new stuff we’ll need to enjoy it. There's tons of gear coming out in the next few months and we’ve already run in, hiked with, rode on, drove in, listened to and played with most of it. In fact, our team of nearly two-dozen testers has been using (and abusing) all the new offerings to come up with this list of the very best stuff.

Ego Power+ String Trimmer
The idea of a battery-powered trimmer has always been enticing: There's no cord-yanking or exhaust, and it's virtually maintenance-free. Most, however, lack serious muscle. Not anymore. With its 56-volt battery, the Ego Power+ String Trimmer offers 40 percent more juice than the recent crop of battery trimmers, and it cuts a 12-inch-wide swath through tall grass, weeds, and light brush for about 45 minutes per charge.
