Rotor Uno Hydraulic Shifting
The other big groupset news coming out of Eurobike was Rotor unveiling its new hydraulic component group, Uno. Developed in conjunction with Magura, who provides the MT8 hydraulic disc caliper or RT8 hydro rim brakes for the set, the Uno promises to not only have the smoothest shifting of any groupset, mechanical or electronic, according to Rotor's Wendy Booher, but also zero maintenance after the initial set up. Playing with the prototype at the Rotor booth, we found it shifted smooth as silk, or, more accurately, mineral oil, with a little practice. Along with the groupset, Rotor introduced its own 11-speed cassette with replaceable aluminum cogs for the largest two (and most heavily abused) gears. The Uno should be released in spring 2016, but Rotor has not yet announced pricing or the final groupset weight.
