Men generally shop in one of two ways: They go in search of a signature piece or a new wardrobe. The latter strategy is a good deal more expensive than the former, which can be done in any hip neighborhood in any city in America. The best bet? Heading to an outlet mall. The outlet experience may lack the romance of boutique browsing, but it allows goal-oriented shoppers to swiftly and effectively dress themselves in corduroy, denim, and slick new suits. But not all outlets are created equal. These are the best spots for men ready to make a day of it.
Desert Hills Premium Outlets
Think of Desert Hills as the closest thing the West Coast has to Woodbury Common. A few basic facts: It's near Palm Springs, the landscape surrounding it is actually very pretty, and it features a ton of high-end designer brands. The clothes that find their way to Desert Hill tend to be a little louder and more casual than anything on the East Coast, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Hit Saint Laurent Paris for fantastic boots, jackets, and tight-fitting rocker garb, Porsche Design for a leather jackets, and Gucci for a slim suits.
