Are you ready for a computer strapped to your wrist? Tech companies certainly think so. There are now several smartwatches on the market – and news that Google, Apple, and Nike are also getting in on the game. Not fully functional on their own, these devices communicate with your phone via Bluetooth. Once the connection is made, you'll have a new way to read a text discreetly during a meeting, dismiss a call you'd rather not take, or check your calendar without removing your phone from your pocket. Doing all this with a gadget on your wrist is very cool in a sci-fi way, although only the Samsung Galaxy Gear lets you talk to it like Dick Tracy, and mostly the devices feel like an extra screen for your phone. But the trend is definitely a glimpse at what the future might bring.
