America is a land blessed with scenic roads. They unravel down coasts and pull taut across the plains. They wind up mountains and ensnare glacial lakes. And, everywhere you go, they are punctuated by pullouts, those gravel or asphalt outgrowths where motorists can pull over to stretch their legs and, perhaps, take in the view. Scenery might not be the only reason to pull over, but it is the best and these are the best spots to take it all in. Just be sure your camera is in the car.
Arizona's Airport Road
If the only Arizona attraction you know is the Grand Canyon, then you're missing out. Sedona's Red Rocks are another must-see, standing tall against the blue sky along the Red Rock Scenic Byway. Bell Rock, one of the byway's most stunning sights, is believed to be an energy vortex by the sort of people who believe that sort of thing. This pullout on the road to Sedona Airport features a postcard-perfect view of the sedimentary action.
