America is a land blessed with scenic roads. They unravel down coasts and pull taut across the plains. They wind up mountains and ensnare glacial lakes. And, everywhere you go, they are punctuated by pullouts, those gravel or asphalt outgrowths where motorists can pull over to stretch their legs and, perhaps, take in the view. Scenery might not be the only reason to pull over, but it is the best and these are the best spots to take it all in. Just be sure your camera is in the car.
Florida's U.S. Route 1
Florida's Overseas Highway, the southern end of U.S. 1, is no ordinary highway. It runs through the Florida Keys and offers uninterrupted views of placid blue water. The pulloff area between Boca Chica Key and Key West is a great place to watch the sunset or picnic on fresh seafood.
