America is a land blessed with scenic roads. They unravel down coasts and pull taut across the plains. They wind up mountains and ensnare glacial lakes. And, everywhere you go, they are punctuated by pullouts, those gravel or asphalt outgrowths where motorists can pull over to stretch their legs and, perhaps, take in the view. Scenery might not be the only reason to pull over, but it is the best and these are the best spots to take it all in. Just be sure your camera is in the car.

Along the Kancamagus Highway, which winds through the White Mountains, motorists find stunning views no matter the season. Still, there is a reason leaf peepers come here. The foliage is outrageous in fall. The viewpoint near the Swift River offers motorists the opportunity to gawk at technicolor trees and look for the moose that can sometimes be found in the area.
