There are ethical arguments against circumcision and people dispute the health advantages. Much of this is personal opinion, which studies and medical recommendations will not settle. One common part of debate about circumcision that may benefit from further study is how it affects genital sensitivity. "Could there be an issue? Possible," says Kolon. "You really can't say because the study hasn't been done to give an answer either way." The foreskin is not the same as the skin of the head of the penis or the shaft and it isn't erectile tissue, so there is no obvious impact but the studies haven't been done and the possibility of reduced sensitivity remains.
