1947 Willys Station Wagon
This was the beginning of the baby boom and new families wanted an affordable, sturdy vehicle. The Willys Station Wagon fit the need. It was the first all-steel wagon, forgoing the wood body panels of predecessors. However, the 463 Jeep wagon still featured a three-tone paint job simulating the woody look. The 463's fold-down tailgate hatch was the first of its kind and can be credited with the origin of tailgating.
