The Healthiest Supermarket Snacks

If you want to lose weight, increase your energy, and improve your health, snack – and snack often. Eating less at main meals and more between them helps boost metabolism, energy, and focus, and can prevent overeating, says Manuel Villacorta, a spokesperson for the American Dietetic Association. As long as you downsize your meals, you can eat a little food every three to four hours, up to four snacks daily. 

While unprocessed foods like fruits and vegetables are healthier than those from boxes, not all packaged products are unhealthy. More manufacturers and retailers, including Walmart are prioritizing unprocessed ingredients and good nutrition. Finding healthy snacks at the grocery or convenience store, at the airport, and in vending machines is easy if you know what to look for. Here are six great snacks to start with.
