Pasta Can Pair With Beer (But It's All About the Sauce)
There were no pasta dishes in the Pavilion. One possible reason? Pasta is a difficult thing to pair — and there's no one go-to beer for it, says Bueltmann. If it's an herb-and-veggie pasta dish, look for a hop-forward beer like a pale ale (IPAs might start to overpower). If there's red sauce, an Amber ale would be a safe bet. Or if you're looking at a stroganoff or alfredo, an oatmeal stout or other roasty beer would be spot-on.
