In the quest for a larger global audience, the organizers of the Winter Olympics in Sochi, Russia, have embraced more outrageous (and hazardous) sports. Here are the ones you'll want to watch and why they will make this games the most entertaining in ages.
Snowboard parallel slalom
It's like the giant parallel slalom we all know and love, just on a shorter course.
What to watch for: The 40-second hill has tighter turns, so the hard cutting around each gate chews up the course quickly, giving the sport a less graceful, wild rodeo feel. "This is more head to head, racing man to man," says 32-year-old U.S. contender Justin Reiter. "It's like the F1 of snowboarding."
