In the biggest study of its kind, The 'New England Journal of Medicine' proved the Mediterranean diet, with its ample fish, nuts, legumes, fruits, and veggies, is more healthful than anyone had imagined – reducing cardiovascular disease by 30 percent. The evidence was so sound that researchers ended the study early out of ethical concerns about the control group not eating the diet.
