Though the restaurant doesn't hide its gourmet foundation, classic Southern staples remain the prized offerings of JCT's, from its signature JCT fried chicken – of limited supply, as the menu warns – to chicken and dumplings or shrimp and grits. But it's worth stopping in on a Sunday evening, when the crew offers Sunday Supper, a "meat and three" selection from your choice of five meats and nine side items, served family-style for the entire table to enjoy. Make sure to try a bottle of local Sweetwater and Terrapin IPA, and, if you're up for a mingle, a visit to the upstairs balcony. [1198 Howell Mill Road, Suite 18, (404-355-2252); jctkitchen.com]
