For sure, the Big Peach has its fair share of establishments offering up old South standards, but there are plenty that take on the classics with a modern spin to wonderful effect. Fans of heaping plates of slow-cooked southern barbecue, as well as those looking for something more high-end, will have plenty of chances to get their finger licking on. Here's our picks for Atlanta's must-eat Final Six.
You won't find a better (or more bountiful) offering of Mexican fare anywhere in Atlanta than at Tin Lizzy's. Beyond the regular options of do-it-yourself quesadillas and salads – and the cantina's famous guacamole, which shouldn't be missed – the taco list is the real draw and the bulk of Tin Lizzy's menu, and for good reason, thanks to distinctly north-of-the-border concoctions as the Philly Cheesesteak Taco, the Korean BBQ Pork Taco or the Chop Chop Shrimp Taco. After gorging, hit the patio to enjoy one of the cantina's drink options, including the esteemed house margarita for a bargain basement $4. [1136 Crescent Avenue, 404-537-5060, tinlizzyscantina.com]
