Over 20 years after the release of “Field of Dreams,” the house and lot, including the baseball diamond, are for sale.
by Tara House
In the summer of 1988 Hollywood built a baseball field in Iowa. Over 20 years later, that field still stands, and has made a name for itself, as the Field of Dreams–from Universal Studio‘s well-known 1989 movie starring Kevin Costner.
Located near Dyersville, some 30 miles west of Dubuque, the property is newly for sale. A mere $5.4 million will score you 193 acres of land where filming took place, seven buildings (including the 2400-square-foot, two-bedroom main house) and, of course, the legendary diamond. If you want it, though, you had best be the sociable type: the site has seen over a million tourists, and current owners Don and Becky Lansing have spent the last two decades preserving it for all its fans. “We love the land and the field, but now it’s time for us to head to the locker room,” they say.
Former major leaguer Ken Sanders is overseeing the sale and can be contacted by email at kensanders20@gmail.com, or at 414-803-4220. To see the full listing click here.

I’m sure that is an interesting read in the Classifieds. Is the property still operating as a farm, or as a tourist attraction.

From my understanding it is both a farm and a tourist attraction.

This is a great landmark for all sports fans. Hopefully the next owners will continue to preserve it for all its fans.
