Taking a more positive tack to the inauguration-inspired beer, Bluejacket Brewery, a brewery and restaurant based in Washington, D.C.’s Navy Yard neighborhood, will be releasing “People are People,” a Belgian-style saison “brewed in the spirit of solidarity,” according to Bluejacket.

Starting Wednesday, January 18, People are People will be available at Bluejacket Brewery along with nine other Neighborhood Restaurant Group locations: Birch & Barley, ChurchKey, Red Apron Union Market, Red Apron Burger Bar, The Partisan, Iron Gate, Hazel, The Sovereign, and EatBar.

The beer, brewed with raw wheat, a generous mix of American, European, and Southern Hemisphere hops and fermented with a blend of farmhouse yeasts, is described by Bluejacket as “bone-dry” with rustic flavors of earth, lemon, and pepper, and having white wine and tangerine aromas.

Proceeds of People are People’s weekend sales will be donated to the Immigrant Justice Legal Service Grant Program, a nonprofit organization based in Washington, D.C., that provides legal services to immigrants.

Neighborhood Restaurant Group, which includes Bluejacket Brewery, contains more than 10 restaurants, a wine shop, a bakery, a butcher shop, and a full-service catering business. The group, based in the D.C. area in Alexandria, Virginia, participates in several charitable projects, including Share Our Strength, Capital Area Food Bank, Boys & Girls Club of America, Alexandria Child Fund, Carpenter’s Shelter, and D.C. Central Kitchen.

People are People will be available for $6 per pint beginning Wednesday, January 18 through inauguration weekend.
