If you fall asleep in this class it's probably not from boredom, but one too many coffee stouts.
The University of North Carolina at Charlotte is offering a new Craft Beer Business Essentials course that will offer "foundational business knowledge, tools and resources to navigate the growing craft beer industry." According to the University's website, the course is aimed towards entrepreneurs and home brewers looking to break into the craft world.
The noncredit continuing education program runs over the span of seven weeks. Students will create business plans, identify marketing strategies, learn brewery management, and dig into some of the legal issues that come with running a brewery. Running a pub or new brewery is sadly not just hooking up some kegs to taps and tossing a stuffed moose on the wall.
The course is open to anyone who signs up online and has aims to have the next hottest brewpub. More info can be found on UNC Charlotte's website here.
