Boulevard Brewing Co. BBQ Sauce
What's It Taste Like?
The Kansas City, MO. brewery's contribution to this compendium is closest to what we all conjure as conventional, store-bought BBQ sauce. That is, except for its X-factor of mixing in a splash of their 80-acre wheat beer (and requisite lemon juice concentrate), which gives the sauce a decidedly aromatic mellowness. In effect, it tastes like an actual backyard beer garden. What's not to like?
Best for Beer, Fish or Fowl?
Boulevard hailing from Kansas City, it's only apt that their beer/BBQ innovation begs to be slathered on ribs before they go under the lid. Though letting some skirt steak, or straight-up beef patties, simmer in this stuff overnight never hurt anyone. Nor would a light coating over some chicken be cause for complaint. Maybe just keep it separate from your catch of the day.
