If we're being honest, there isn't much to making a very good burger: Quality ground meat between two slices of warm bread is truly all it takes. But add a pungent cheese, some pickled hot peppers, a garlicky mayo, and you’ll wind up with something not good, but great. It's little surprise, then, that there are countless variations of burgers concocted by chefs — both high and low — that take this to the most extreme, piling more meat, condiments, and stuff on a burger until it's borderline inedible. Stunt burgers, as we like to call them, walk a fine line, where one too many twists can ruin the whole thing. We think these nine did it just right.
