Slate Coffee Roasters
Slate recently took second place in the U.S. Brewers Cup, and we can see why. Seattle may be better known as the home to Starbucks and coffee’s dark roast-favoring “second wave,” but it’s also home to more coffee shops per capita than anywhere else in the country (35 for every 100,000 residents), and Slate is one of the first to bring the third wave to this espresso town.
Slate exemplifies the more modern focus on single-origin beans, undergoing non-espresso brewing methods to bring out the overseen natural flavors and subtleties of each bean and region.
