2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

The limit-pushing at Fiat Chrysler’s Street & Racing Technology division continues with the Demon, a V-8 bearing, 840-hp barbarian trained for straight-line speed. Compared with the headline-stealing Challenger Hellcat of a few years back, the Demon’s V-8 engine is armed with a larger supercharger with increased boost, a higher rev limit, and a new intercooler to keep the whole thing from starting hellfire. The Demon should hit 60 mph in 2.3 seconds, and attain a quarter-mile time of 9.65 seconds. We may lack the tools to understand what the Demon means — someone should lock one in a time capsule so a future generation can figure it out. That model would be one of 3,000 slated for the United States; they’ll start to be delivered later this summer. Pricing wasn’t announced.
