Range Rover Velar

The SUV explosion continues, and if you favor the urbane modernity offered by Range Rover, you’ve got a prime new option in the Velar. It’s the fourth model in the British luxury brand’s current lineup, falling above the Evoque and below the Sport in size and price; like its siblings, the Velar has nary a misplaced line. Its cool, uncluttered design features the brand’s signature floating roof, steely slim LED headlights, controls that are “hidden until lit,” and a massive panoramic roof that comes standard. A trio of powertrains are on offer: two four cylinders, one diesel (180hp; 317-lb.-ft of torque) and one gas (247 hp), along with a supercharged V-6 that puts out 380 hp. All of them get an eight-speed automatic. The Velar will start at $49,900 and arrives later this summer.
