Orbea Orca

First spotted with a stealthy “skunk works” paint job at the 2016 Tour de France, the new Orbea Orca has finally been released to the public. A racing bike that’s designed for riders who want to get the most out of every watt, the new Orca is built to be light, stiff, and aerodynamic. The Orca’s monocoque carbon fiber frameset is manufactured with three kinds of carbon fiber. Stiffness comes from the spine of the bike. The fork blades have been redesigned to be more aero; they’re bowed a bit to increase airflow while accommodating wider rims and tires. Lastly, thinner seat stays and a narrower top tube add a bit of compliance for better traction when cornering and increased comfort on long rides. Many disc and caliper brake models are offered (starting at $1,999), and several options exist for those wishing to customize their ride. [From $1,999; orbea.com
