Acting Like You're Not Just Mostly Bragging
You should absolutely post that picture that looks just over your laptop onto the waves of the Atlantic Ocean, hashtagged #todaysoffice. Show friends proof of that meal you just prepared or that trip you took with a loved one to Paris. Celebrate your favorite team's win or show off those tickets you just scored to the sold-out Broadway show. We all want to be validated and liked, both literally and with a Facebook thumbs up. The clicks and comments buoy our self-esteem and feed our narcissism, but that's about all it's worth. So, sure, embrace the superficiality of telling strangers and frenemies how great your life is going, just be a bit more self-aware and have a sense of humor about it.
