Scott Spark

Light, agile, and fast, the Spark has long been Scott’s top full suspension XC mountain bike. For 2017, the bike’s been redesigned with the goal of maintaining its popularity with both racers and non-racers alike. First, Scott worked to enhance the carbon fiber used to construct the Spark’s frameset both in terms of its weave and its lay-up. As a result, the new carbon-fiber Spark is both lighter and stiffer than previous versions. The rear triangle was also redesigned. The previous version used a rear triangle constructed from 18 separate components; the new one uses three. Not only is the new system simpler due to fewer moving parts, but it’s also 130 grams lighter. The frame also incorporates the new Boost hub and drivetrain standard, which increases stiffness and tire clearance without compromising shifting performance. It’s available in three wheel sizes: 29-inch, 27.5-inch, and 27.5+. [From $3,999;]
