Yeti SB5 & SB5+

The all-mountain SB5 has long been one of Yeti’s most popular bikes. But Yeti has updated the SB5 for 2017, giving it a steeper seat angle and a longer cockpit. As a result, the new SB5 climbs better than its predecessor yet remains just as playful on descents. There’s also a new SB5+ with an elevated right chainstay that provides clearance for 27.5+ tires. With five inches of rear-wheel travel, the SB5+ is balanced such that it both climbs and descends well, and those plus-sized tires offer traction and stability in all kinds of loose terrain. Both bikes come in two versions: standard carbon fiber and a special Turq series that maximizes layup and production techniques for added stiffness and lower weight. [From $4,699; yeticycles.com]
