Smith Optics Rover Helmet
The Smith Rover is a low-profile, lightweight mountain bike helmet. It features Smith’s distinctive honey-comb Koroyd technology which provides ventilation and allows for a lighter-weight construction for the complete helmet. Smith says the Koroyd inserts ventilate as well as traditional venting systems and they’re nice for protecting your scalp from bees and other biting critters. Like many new helmets, the Rover is offered with the MIPS (Multi-Directional Impact Protection System) lining, first introduced in cycling and snow helmets in 2010 which helps protect the brain from rotational and slanted impacts during crashes. The Rover is available now for $150 with MIPS, and without MIPS for $120.
