LG Signature W7 OLED TV

Our love of OLED (short for organically light-emitting diode) TVs is a matter of record — they've had the best-looking displays since they launched a few years ago, thanks to their ability to completely turn off individual pixels, creating the deepest blacks and ultra-realistic contrast. But LG highlighted another of OLED's show-stopping features this year, debuting a 4K flatscreen that's just 0.15 inches thick. That's really, truly how thin this TV is, since most of its electronics are stored in the included soundbar, obviating the need for humpbacked modules. There isn't much function to that degree of slimness, except as a gorgeous design breakthrough at a time when any innovation in hardware (as opposed to software) is rare and welcome. The W7 is also a genuine innovation in wall-hung TVs — it lays completely flush against the wall, and weighs just 17 pounds, meaning it can mount in more places, and with less need for professional installation.
