First Generation (1966-1977): The Original Icon

Available as a hardtop, a pickup truck, or a convertible, the revolutionary Bronco immediately found favor with an American audience. It shared some components with the F-100 pickup truck, featured off-road gear like a transfer case, and was available with either six or eight cylinders. At its essence, the original four-wheel-drive Bronco competed with the Willys Jeep CJ and International Scout, devoid of most creature comforts and intended for tackling any type of terrain.
