Second Generation (1978-1979): A Thoughtful Redesign

The Bronco was so well received that it was granted a second-generation redesign, some 12 years after it debuted. Now sold as a single, three-door model with a removable hardtop, the Bronco looked a lot like the F-100 and featured V-8 engines exclusively. The tailgate introduced what would become a signature Bronco hallmark: a rear window that lowered into the door.
