The kitchen might be ground zero for some of the worst, most ill-advised elements of the smart home revolution. But that doesn't mean you have to go all-out minimalist on your kitchen. In fact, any functional kitchen makes ample room for gadgets.
That's at least what Alton Brown, chef, host of Food Network's Good Eats, and vintage watch obsessive, argues. “There are probably a lot of tools in my kitchen that most people aren’t familiar with,” Brown told us from his home in Georgia. “But I am constantly experimenting with better methods of doing things, and there are now a few items that have become essential.”
